Penny Black Birthday

I really love the weekends as with everyone being off work there are so many more new creations appearing across all the blogs I'm following, its wonderful! I have so many little scraps of paper and cut-off's of card that I have decided to add what I can to some cards. This cute little guy is from Penny Black, I just think these little hedgehogs are so adoreable! I've really been trying to improve my colouring, I don't think I've done too badly here!

Something different.

Was clicking on my computer and came across this backing paper from one of my Pink Petticoat downloads. I like the pattern and colour, but boy I struggled to come up with something to go with it. I created a topper using some brown corrugated cards from my stash. I came across a scrap of spotty paper also from Pink Petticoat, "Just an old fashioned girl", so I cut a circle from it, punched a couple of holes and threaded some ribbon through and made a bow. I mounted this onto black card which I distressed around the edges with a nail file. I attached a stripe of gold card from my stash and attached the whole topper to it. I then used a sentiment from Crate Paper on some brown card and finished off with a little sparkly heart from my stash. Simple but a struggle too!

Sugar Nellie

This little girl is called Lola and she loves to gather flowers, what a lovely way to spend a day, I'd be up for that! I have really enjoyed stamping this week and using my Whispers markers to colour. Great!

on a roll today!

Have really enjoyed myself today, I had an unexpected day off work and was motivated enough to get the dreaded housie stuff out of the way early so I would have some playtime! I have been busy since early afternoon playing with my bits of paper and stamps, it was wonderful and guilt free! This little image is Maggie, would you like to meet her? She is from Sugar Nellie designs and i think she is so sweet!

Pink Petticoat thank you.

I had another one of those episodes this week when you realise that your child is growing up way too fast and is tip toeing into the big world! My daughter, who is almost 17, is on work experience this week. I know, I'm sad! She has been lucky enough to be able to obtain a great insight into the legal system as she is "working" in the courthouse. She has an interest in criminal psychology of all things! I watched her get out of the car and make her way up the steps, unsure of what lay ahead, but hey! she did really great, and loved it! So, I thought I would make this little card to say thank you to the ladies in the office for looking after my baby so well! I used the black flourishes from Pink Petticoat Sweet Sundaes range, the little lady is also from Pink Petticoat, she is of course Lola, coloured with my Faber Castell pencils mounted up on some pink card from my stash. The black ribbon is from Papermania as is the flower and button. The die cut flower was cut using my trusty cuttlebug and a sizzix die, finished off with some Stickles glue and a little sparkly heart. Nice, I think!

sugar nellie lurve!

A little card I made for my husband Gary, today is our wedding anniversary, 18 years, wow, where did all that time go, scary! I'm a romantic at heart, don't get me wrong, I look at modern cards and think "aren't they beautiful", but I am always drawn to more romantic looking things. This little stamp I just love, its from Sugar Nellie and show little Lola and Simon having a cuddle, I think it's so sweet! I coloured this using my Faber Castell watercolour pencils. Gary liked his card, even though it is a bit girlie, ah well hard to break the habit of a lifetime! About to head to bed, I have a horrible cold, sniff, so I will update the other materials I used tomorrow! Apologies for the quality of the picture, a bit blurry, but you get the drift!

Sweet Wishes!

This little number has been made using the Sweet Sundaes range of papers from Pink Petticoat, I am such a fan of these convenient little downloads, I'm not on commission or anything I just love them! The backing paper is the flourishes from the pack and the little ice cream has been chosen from the sundae selection. I used some sticky ribbon from Anita's crafts and a little fabric flower from Prima, finished off with a little flowers shaped brad from Papermania, I couldn't help myself and thought this was a prime candidate for some Stickles glitter! Mmmmmmmmmm!

One of those successful failures!

This little mistake I thought I would post anyway. Its not exactly what I wanted to do, but it just sort of took on a life of its own! Patterned paper is from my usual stop, Pink Petticoat, its from the Old fashioned girl range, the ribbon is from Papermania as is the buttons the felt flower is from American Crafts I think. My daughters liked it, though it should be said they do have a bit of a love for the colour black!! Ah well, it's not too bad, is it?

Penny Black Happy Birthday

Created this happy little card using a Penny Black stamp. I think this stamp is lovely and always goes down well with my daughters' friends. Coloured using my Faber Castell watercolour pencils and mounted up on some gingham paper and blue card. The ribbon was donated by my daughter and the felt flower is from American Crafts. I finished off with a little Stickles glitter. Lovely!

Card for my love!

This card I created for my other half Gary. We have been married for almost 18years now and he is my one true friend. Even after all these years thoughts of him still touch my heart and make me smile. I love him dearly! I didn't want anything too feminine, though I have very little inspiration with it comes to male card making. This paper has been in my stash for quite a while as I loved the pattern and colours, but never really knew what to do with it. It is from Dream Street Papers, I distressed using Tim Holtz distressing inks, the scripted paper is from Pink Petticoat's Just an Old Fashioned Girl, the chipboard letter is from Prima, and has also been in my stash forever. The stamped lettering was made using SeeDee's alphabet though I'm not sure which, and Tim Holtz yet again. I couldn't help myself and added a little Laura Ashley fabric brad as well. I love this and when I presented it to Gary he was delighted. He's such an old romantic!

Love Birds

Another Valentine made using the Pink Petticoat, Old Fashioned Girl papers, I really love the colours and design of this paper. Teamed it up with some gingham ribbon from Papermania and a few buttons and flowers from my stash. I really like this one, so girlie!

Sweet Valentine.

Just been creating some little Valentines and this is my first. I downloaded the "Old Fashioned Girl" pack from Pink Petticoat and I just adore. It is so simple yet extremely effective. The contrast of the red, white and black is so eye catching I think. The ribbon is fro Papermania and the little gems are from Doodlebug Designs. The flowers are from Papermania and Got flowers Deux. I just love the scripted writing showing through the polka dots and of course the little stamp, love birds, adorable!

Double Anniversary

Two anniversary cards this weekend for my mother and father in law who are 40 years married, and my sister in law who is 5 years married, both on the same day! First image is card for my parents in law, this was made using Laura Ashley papers and flower, the stamp is from See-Dee's. The second is very plain little black handmade paper with a little paper rose attached with a bow, three little green pearls and finished with the same stamp, a little wobbly I'm afraid, though I love it!! Busy busy!

Pink Petticoat Birthday

This little image I just adore! I love Pink Petticoat's Lola Rose prints. This one I coloured using Faber Castell watercolour pencils which I received from my husband as part of my birthday present. I mounted it up on some light green patterned paper, I'm not sure what the brand is, it is part of a mixed pack which I picked up in my local craft supply shop. I used a scrap of pink card and run this through the Cuttlebug using the "swiss dots" embossing folder. The bubble flower stickers came free with my regular papercraft mag "Papercraft Inspirations". I really love the colours in this card it reminds me of early summer, a time of the year that I am longing for at the moment!

lilybean'spaperie challenge

This is my entry in Melissa's challenge, at lilybean's paperie my first ever entry to any challenge, so here goes!! Didn't want to go for the overwhelming effect of polka dots so i thought I would be a bit more subtle and adding them as an accent instead, I like its simplicity and it was all made from leftovers, backing paper came free with a magazine as did the dots, scrap of grey card for the flower, run through the cuttlebug a little fabric flower and a contrasting brad, a little silver handmade with love heart, as I do like to craft with love!!! Finished off with a stamp. Nice.
