my girls x

hi all,
just thought i'd share a little picture of my two daughters taken recently  when we attended a cousins wedding.  It's not very often I get a chance to picture them together these days, what can I say, I am parenting two teenagers!  I like this one though and am amazed at how alike they've grown...... despite having totally different personalities.

more chrismassy stuff!

hi all,

a couple of new additions here, been loving today, creating Christmas cards, feeling that lovely warm glow that comes with the prospect of cosy rooms, warm home, cinnamon scents and twinkling lights! love it all! it is amazing what you can do with your leftovers, I haven't really used any new full sheets here, just some bits and pieces laying around along with my Papermania Signature stamp which I bought yesterday and am totally hooked on so you may see a lot of it for a while, just humour me! Love this colour combo, the garnet and green on cream cardstock is so festive I think, used some more of the Pink Petticoat Fairy Lights range, the olive wallpaper, love this flourish look distressed up a bit with Tim Holtz, tattered rose, it appeals to me and makes me smile.

vintage christmas

morning all,

ok, I have to something to confess, I'm off work today and I've made a card already when I really should be ironing. Hands up, I'm guilty! The ironing basket sits here in my little craft room and it is haunting me, I have to get it done. :( But, priorities first, this is a little vintage Christmas card I made with a few scraps laying about on my table and my new Papermania Signature Collection stamp which I just adore, I love all things shabby at the moment and would love to polish up my shabby skills if that's not a contradiction!!!! The red patterned paper is from Pink Petticoat, a scrap left over from a card I made last night. I mounted it up on some cream cardstock which I have really come to love recently and cut a little border using my Martha Stewart doilie lace punch (love it). The punch detail in the corner was made using my Carla Craft corner punch. The little greeting stamp came free with the latest edition of Papercraft Inspirations, finished off with a little sparkly gem, oh, and the ink is Tim Holtz, Tattered Rose. So off to tackle the dreaded ironing but I'll supplement it with a little crafty break later on!!

first of the season.

Hi all,

Up a little later tonight waiting for my daughter to return from a concert, she's gone to Belfast to see Greenday, so, I'm crafting a little to pass the time. First of the season here for me, haven't even thought of making any Christmas cards yet but I have to admit I have enjoyed looking at other blogs and lots of ladies have been super organised and have been posting for ages though when I had a little peek at Pink Petticoat's new Fairy Lights collection I was excited to say the least! I am a bit of a fan of the Petticoat and just think this collection is really beautiful. I love that it is so versatile and can be used for contemporary cards and well as traditional, the selection allows that. So this little number was made using the "Christmas Flowers" design along with the "crimson wallpaper", love this design can be used for so much more!! Printed the little Christmas Tree for buttons, instead I used little heart gems from Papermania, I punched some circles from some crimson paper I had spare and mounted up some spotty buttons also from Papermania. Finished off with a touch of Stickles glue and voila!!! I like it, cheery! Hope Catherine isn't much longer I'm feeling sooooo tired tonight!
P.S. Apologies for the pic, bit too close to the top, but this is attempt number four and I'm way to tired to care!!

catherine and maeve x

Just a couple of pics of my daughter catherine dressed up for her recent school formal, she went with her best friend James, so handsome!we are so proud of her, she looked so beautiful. Catherine is individual, not afraid to walk her own road, caring, compassionate, intelligent and deep. She'll soon be 18 and I really dont know where all that time went, its astounding! her little sister maeve, my youngest daughter is pictured here too, what can I say about Maeve, independant, individual, strong, intelligent, funny, loving and loyal. I love them both, they're the air I breathe and bring out the best in me. :)

The rubon is from Crate Paper and little flower is from Hampton Art. Oh, and the little border was punched using my Martha Stewart doilie border punch, don't think I'll ever tire of using that baby!!!! and added a little Tim Holtz, tattered rose ink.

Gorjuss Girl

I just love how this has turned out! I haven't been crafting for a while, I think I've lost my creative motivation but forced myself to get something made last night and I'm glad I did. I left it on the kitchen table overnight to dry and when I came in this morning for breakfast and seen it, it made me smile! The image is of course one of the beautiful Gorjuss Girls, the only one I own at present, ahem!! The card is from stash, blue and cream, I distressed the edges with some Tim Holtz, Tattered Rose. The border is cut using my treasured doilie edge punch from Martha Stewart, I embellished this with some Stickles glue. The little pearls came from my daughters corsage which was presented to her by her date for her school formal last week, nothing goes to waste in this house!!! I wrapped it in a little blue ribbon from Laura Ashley and mounted it up a little Laura Ashley floral chipboard square. I coloured the image using my Faber Castell pencils and added a little more Stickles glue for detail. The rubon is from Crate and the little floral stamp is from Hampton Art. I feel excited about this card, think it has kick started some creative thoughts and feelings. :)

Another little box.

I just love these!!! Same set up as below, except printed with Pink Petticoat Little Swirls in Duck Egg Blue. Punched a couple of holes and added some silver eyelets, a little ribbon from stash and voila! A little handle, added a little Laura Ashley tag with some fibre from the same. It's just crying out for a little button and flower on the front, but I had nothing I was happy with to suit, I feel a shopping expedition coming on I think!!!

Gift Box

Little gift box made using a template downloaded from Papertrey Ink it was designed by Laura Meaden and is the smallest in the selection, thought I would be best starting small as it was my first attempt. Printed up some card using Pink Damask from Pink Petticoat, I then put the card through the printer again and printed the template on the other side. Cut and folded as instructed and added a little detail using some paper flowers from Prima and a brad from Laura Ashley, also a little freebie sentiment on the front cute!

Wedding Wishes.

I decided to be a bit more organised and get a head start on a wedding card that I needed to make for my husband's cousin Karen who is getting married on September 25th. My husband Gary, my daughters Catherine, Maeve and myself are all invited and really looking forward to it. So, thought I'd better make a wee card now instead of the day before, which is what I usually end up doing, lol! I have used Pink Petticoat's "Old Fashioned Girl" range which I think is truly lovely, though I have'nt used it in a while. The card blank was printed using Pink Damask and I then mounted up some card printed using Cream Flourishes. I then tore some card which was printed using Words of Love, all from the same collection. I then used up a scrap of Pink Damask and punched a little border and mounted up a little sentiment. I then threaded some velvet ribbon through and attached using some glue dots. Some little crystal hearts from my stash finished off, I like it, simple yet tasteful and lovely colour combination.

Sprinkles!

This little card was created using a stamp I bought from Pink Gem Designs her name is Fairy Sprinkles. This is the second Sprinkles I've purchased, I think she's a sweetie. I used some scrap paper left over, its from Daisy Bucket I think and then mounted up some lilac card which I ran through the cuttlebug using the swiss dots folder. I then mounted up Sprinkles, which I coloured with my Faber Castell pencils with some foam pads. Added a little sticky border which came free with Papercraft Inspirations and added a little "thank you" sticker to match, finished with a little butterfly sticker and some Stickles glue. Nice.

First in a while.

Well it has to be said. This is the first card I've made in around 2 months and I have to say it's good to be back! I just lost it for a while. Life can throw up some situations which force hobbies and nice things onto the back burner, pity though. OK this little creation is one of the stunning Gorjuss Girls, I just adore these stamps and have done for a while from afar, so I decided to purchase to see if I could kick start the creative juices again. I just love the little face and her gorjuss hair. The image was coloured using Faber Castell watercolour pencils and mounted up on some freebie papers, they are actually Christmas papers! The little butterfly is also a freebie from a crafting mag, can't remember which though! I like this, think I may go for another one this evening.

Gem of a girl!

First addition in a while as I have been busy nursing my youngest back to health again, she's doing well now! This stamp was purchased a few weeks ago but only getting around to using it now. It's Fairy Sprinkles from http://www.pinkgemdesigns.co.uk I think she is toooo cute. I was using up some scraps as I do seem to have quite a few bits and pieces lying around so I thought the blue, brown, pink and lime green were a good combination. The images was coloured using Faber Castell pencils, the die cut flowers I got from E-Bay, the brad is from Papermania as is the little sentiment. I finished with come Stickles glue. The little frame cam free with a magazine. Enjoyed this one and really like the colours.

Looking after my wee one

Have'nt had a change to create anything new of late as I have been looking after my daughter who had a nasty fall from her horse and shattered her elbow and humerous, resulting in extensive surgery and a long rehabilitation period. So i'm rather tied up trying to make life a little easier for her at the moment. May take her out for a drive tomorrow and that may include a trip to the new craft shop in town, so I may be tempted to conjure up something new later in the week.

These papers are my most recent digital purchase. The are from www.primahybrid.com, from their Beautiful Day selection. They are just lovely, very feminine, just what I like! The stamped sentiment is from See Dee's, stamped with Tim Holtz Distress ink in Tea Dye. A little ribbon from salvaged from a wedding invitation with pearls added. Understated, I like this one.

Birthday Sparkle

That last addition for the Dare you to Digi Stamp challenge has put me in the mood!! Loved the Pink Petticoat's "Lola's Rose" paper so I thought I'd use it here too, just in a different colour. The striped paper is from the same collection "Lola's Boudoir" as is the little stamp, the crown has been glittered using my ever faithful Stickles glue, love it!! Added some flowers from Prima and Green Tara and a little heart shaped brad from Papermania. The border was cut using my Carla Craft punch. Think this has turned out well!

Challenge Card

Just created this for the Dare you to Digi Stamp Challenge. This week the theme was lemon and lilac, a first for me haven't used this combination before but they look pretty together. The card is printed with Lola's Rose, from Pink Petticoat, Lola's Boudoir Collection. The yellow card was also printed from Pink Petticoat's colour palette, in Sunshine. The image is from Lola's Boudoir. I used my Cuttlebug to cut some little blooms and embellished these with little gems from Doodlebug Designs. The brad is from the Laura Ashley Collection. Finished with a little heart border cut using a order punch from Carla Crafts. Really like this colour combo!

Altered Box

A little change from the norm tonight. After spending a lot of time de-cluttering my daughters' bedrooms last week, I came across a few boxes and couldn't resist another excuse to play with my paper! This little box came with perfume gifts inside and it was a lovely shade of blue. After browsing my downloads collection I fell for the Little Swirls Collection from Pink Petticoat. I used the blue, which was "Pebble" and the brown which was "Mocha" and I really think it has turned out lovely. I used a Sizzix flower die, though I think the brown one may be a little big, but I can live with that. The ribbon was off a box of chocs and the little gems are from Papermania. I punched a little tag with my new Carla Craft border punch and stamped a little sentiment with black Stazon ink. I finished with a little silver Stickles glue. Not sure what to use it for just yet, though I am going to paint my little craft room soon, when I manage to claim it back from storage!

Dare you to digi stamp......

Created this little card especially for the Dare You to Digi Stamp challenge number 5, over at http://dareu2digistamp.blogspot.com/ there was an adorable sketch provided and this is my take on it. I must admit I enjoyed this as I just love the simplicity of digi stamps. I used backing paper from http://www.shabbyprincess.com/ from their "Happy go Lucky" pack. The pink circles are from card stock and the little image is from my ever favourite Pink Petticoat. Its from the "Lola'sBoudoir" collection. I created a little ribbon affect using flowers and gems from papermania and a little punched border using a Carla Craft punch. Finished off with a little Stickles glue.

Pink Lady.

I haven't blogged in so long, my creativity has been stifled somewhat of late. Life. It has a tendency to take over sometimes and finds plenty of "stuff" to occupy us physically and mentally. Anyhoo, here is a little addition made using a little digi stamp from Pink Petticoat. It's Lola Rose of course and she showing off a sparkler! Teamed this up with some free papers from a magazine which I just adore, lots of pinks and patterns. Nice little card and cost practically nought!!!!

Full of Joy!

Meet this little lady who has been hiding within my computer for ages and I had forgotten all about her! I downloaded this little set of images from http://grab-a-doodle-do.blogspot.com/ This is Lilly, I had a feeling that I had invited her to play some time ago but I must have lost her. After some searching of my hard drive I came across her again so I decided to put her to some good use. I just love how this has turned out. This is the same freebie set of papers I mentioned earlier. I stamped Lilly and coloured her with my Whisper pens and Faber Castell pencils. I used my Carla Crafts punch to add some detail and the stamp is from Daisy Bucket. The little butterflies are actually beads that I have had in my kit for ages, I attached them using some glue dots. I added some ric rac ribbon which is green velvet, it also was a freebie with Papercraft Inspirations last issue. I added a little paper flower from Prima and finished with a little twinkly gem from Doodlebug Designs. Oh yes and my ever predictable Stickles glue!! That's me finished for this evening, going to have a glass of wine before bed.

Bouquet.

Went to the supermarket this morning for some necessities and picked up a copy of Simply Cards and Papercraft. It was accompanied by a little book of assorted designer papers which are just adorable. I was instantly attracted to this turquoise and pink combo and decided to team it up with some floral stamps from Clear Expressions. The papers are truly lovely but unfortunately I'm unaware of the designer, so I can't give credit where it's due. I coloured the image using my Whispers pens and Faber Castell watercolour pencils. Punched a little butterfly for a little added effect. I cut a little tag from the same book of papers and used a little run on from Crate Paper, I got so much value out of those rub ons, so versatile! I finished with a little Stickles glue and added a little gem from Papermania. This is especially for a friend who I really should try to see more off, I think we all make those promises but life has a way of keeping us from fulfilling them.

Retail Therapy.

I know I have produced my last few cards using this download selection from www.charmedcardsandcrafts.co.uk but I cant help myself. The are so young and inspiring. This newest addition is Holly from the "Holly and Madison" range. She's a girls after my own heart, a shopper! Began this by layering up some papers from the Pretty Doodles range from www.PinkPetticoat.co.uk the base pink is rose and the doodles are coloured Smoke. I then had a little pink cardstock left over from a previous project and put this through my Cuttlebug using the "Swiss Dots" embossing folder. I then cut around Holly and attached her to this. I punched a little border with my corner punch from Carla Craft and layer some grey sparkly sticky ribbon over the top. This was free with a magazine, my favourite kind! I then stamped a little sentiment using my "See Dee's" sentiment stamps and added a little black gem from "Doodlebug Designs". Finished off with a little bit of Stickles glue here and there, just because it's so girlie. Hope you like this one, I really enjoyed myself!

Teamed this image up with yet another paper from http://pinkpetticoat.co.uk/ it's from the pretty doodles range and is pistachio green, also used cranberry solid colour from the same range, used my cuttlebug for some flowers and embellished them with some gems and sequins from Papermania. finished with my all time favourite Stickles glue. Added a little sentiment using my computer, "Just being me", I think that's what we all should do!

I have teamed the image up with some papers from the Sweet Sundaes range from http://www.pinkpetticoat.co.uk/ I coloured the image with my Faber Castell pencils and added a little Stickles glitter just because I can't help myself! Second of the day.

Was reading one of my older copies of card magazines yesterday, and forgot I had this little download. I came across an article in Simply Cards and Papercraft, written by Jenni Shawyer. She had a few examples of her favourite cards and I fell for the one made using this download from
www.daisiecompany.com , Gina Jane's Chocolate Craving Kit. I love the colours and just adore the little chocolate, speaking as a confirmed chocoholic!! Good enough to eat I think!

First in a while!

Hi all, I haven't added a lot here for a few weeks, I lost my focus for a while, what with work and decisions and challenges, you know, all that grown up stuff us crafters don't really like to think about!! Well, I forced myself to sit down and try to come up with a little creativity, to help keep me sane if it's nothing else. Managed to get this little stamp on E Bay, however, it is one of Janet Roberts designs over at http://pinkgemdesigns.blogspot.com/. I thought it was so sweet, it reminds me of my daughters', who are both angels, and there is a little rebellion in their personality!

Something different.

Was clicking on my computer and came across this backing paper from one of my Pink Petticoat downloads. I like the pattern and colour, but boy I struggled to come up with something to go with it. I created a topper using some brown corrugated cards from my stash. I came across a scrap of spotty paper also from Pink Petticoat, "Just an old fashioned girl", so I cut a circle from it, punched a couple of holes and threaded some ribbon through and made a bow. I mounted this onto black card which I distressed around the edges with a nail file. I attached a stripe of gold card from my stash and attached the whole topper to it. I then used a sentiment from Crate Paper on some brown card and finished off with a little sparkly heart from my stash. Simple but a struggle too!
